Keeping parents up to date with their child's education.
When safety matters most
Hoping to easily answer this common question from parents, the Department of Education approached Gridstone to create a free, educational app featuring everything a parent needs to know about what their child is learning at school.
Working closely with the Department, we developed SchoolMate, an easy-to-use mobile app containing the curriculum and current events for school-aged children in Victoria.
To keep the app relevant to every child in any grade, our in-house team of app designers and developers catalogued the curriculum by school year and subject, implementing simple navigation to switch between categories.
By adding personalised profiles, parents are able to select educational events and at-home activities based on their children’s interest. Push notifications keep parents posted on changes made to curriculum.
Understanding what parents need to know about the system.
Having instant access to their child’s curriculum bridges the communication gap between parents and educators, and allows parents to be more involved in their child's education.
Thousands of Victorian parents use SchoolMate to provide an overview of what their child should be learning and what, as parents, they can do to help facilitate that education.
Using real-time updates, parents are able to find out what’s on this week, this month or this year, with a dynamic list of upcoming educational events.
SchoolMate was designed to give parents easy access to their child's curriculum, detailed in the words of the Department of Education.
This mobile app allows parents to customise their experience by adding profiles, including pictures and colour schemes, for up to 10 children.
